The Story that started it all...

From Matthew's side:

Ever since I was little I knew I wanted to go to school in Saint Louis some day. Ok, maybe not since I was little... but sometime before I left high school, I somehow knew I would end up in Saint Louis (of course at that time I didn't know I would meet the woman of my dreams).

After high school (Blue Valley North), I found the college I wanted to attend... strangely enough it was not in Saint Louis... yes, it was in good old Springfield, Missouri. Drury University (originally called Drury College when I arrived), was a great school, but did not quite have the academics I was interested in... but they did have a nice 3-2 engineering program.

It just so turns out that one of the engineering schools in the Drury 3-2 program was located in Saint Louis. Not only that, it is considered to be the Harvard of the Midwest! Washington University in Saint Louis, here I come! Still, I was unaware of who I would meet in Saint Louis, and what it would lead to.

Upon arriving in Saint Louis, I was there for a whole year without much excitement. Then, I decided to get a summer job. I searched high and far for a place to work... Best Buy, Circuit City... Nobody seemed to be hiring. Then finally, Target offered me a job, and said I could work nights for $2 extra. Sounded pretty good to me... and since I hadn't heard back from anyone else, I figured this would work for my summer job (not knowing at the time that this would be a life changing experience in the best of all ways).

My first week on the job was kinda boring. I found out how weird it was sleeping during the day, and working at night. Window coverings become very important, along with disconnecting the phone. :) Anyhow, it was about the second week of work, when there was a new employee. She was the most beautiful lady I had ever laid eyes on. I knew from the minute I saw her, I needed to get to know her. The rest is pretty much history. Taking the job at Target was the best thing I ever could of done. I don't know where my life would be today without my lovely wife Sarah.
